PLAINVIEW — ж¶Òõ Baptist University continues to expand its academic footprint with the addition of several new degrees, specializations, and certifications for the 2025-2026 academic year.
These offerings, approved as part of the university’s latest academic governance process, reflect ж¶Òõ’s ongoing commitment to innovation and meeting student and workforce needs.
“Our academic leadership has been intentional about aligning new offerings with student interest and the evolving demands of the marketplace,” said Dr. Cindy McClenagan, Vice President of Academic Affairs. “These new degrees and certifications provide pathways for students to advance their education while preparing for impactful careers.”
Additions span nearly every academic school at ж¶Òõ:
School of Behavioral and Social Sciences
New programs include the Master of Arts in History – Applied History and MA in Human Services – Military, Veterans, and their Families. A new specialization in Criminal Justice Administration – Natural Resources Law Enforcement and Protective Services is also being introduced. Several accelerated degree pathways are now available, allowing students to complete both undergraduate and graduate degrees in criminal justice, human services, and history more efficiently.
School of Business
The university has restructured and renamed its doctoral offering to the more prestigious Ph.D. in Management, now available with two new specializations: Organizational Leadership and Human Resources and Organizational Development. Additionally, ж¶Òõ offers a new Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Marketing. At the graduate level, a new MBA in Marketing and MS in Management with specializations in Organizational Management and Human Resource Management have been added. A wide array of new undergraduate and graduate certificates—including Digital Marketing, Cybersecurity, Retail Management, Information Systems, and Sales Management—further expand practical and industry-focused opportunities.
School of Christian Studies
Two new undergraduate certificates in African American Church Leadership and Hispanic Church Leadership have been introduced, expanding ministry preparation for diverse communities. These complement embedded certificate options within existing master’s programs.
Don A. Williams School of Education
Graduate-level certification pathways are now available for students pursuing Alternative Certification, Educational Administration (Principal), and Educational Diagnostician credentials, increasing options for aspiring educators and administrators.
School of Humanities and Leadership
The school now offers a Master of Arts in Strategic Leadership and a new MA in Creative Leadership. An accelerated MA-to-Doctor of Strategic Leadership pathway has been added. New graduate certificates in English and English with Teaching Concentration provide additional credentialing options for educators. Other additions include interdisciplinary courses in leadership and humanities.
Kennth L. Mattox School of Mathematics and Sciences
While no new degrees were introduced, the school expanded its computer science and mathematics curriculum with courses like Web Programming II and Intermediate Algebra with Review to strengthen foundational and advanced learning opportunities.
Ben and Berth Mieth School of Nursing
No new programs were added in this cycle, but new state-of-the-art VR headsets are in use this academic year.
“These new offerings are designed to meet students where they are and help them get where they want to go—whether that’s graduate school, leadership roles, or specialized career fields,” Dr. McClenagan added.
