Vera appointed to CCCU Commission for Alumni Affairs Directors

PLAINVIEW — Jeffrey Vera, Director of Alumni Relations and Career Services at ж¶Òõ Baptist University, has been appointed as a commissioner on the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities’ (CCCU) Commission for Alumni Affairs Directors.

CCCU President Dr. David Hoag announced the appointment, which is effective immediately.

“As a leader in your field, you have many opportunities to serve, and we are honored that you have chosen to invest your time and talents with us in this capacity,” Hoag said.

The CCCU Commission for Alumni Affairs Directors works to strengthen alumni engagement across member institutions while upholding the mission of Christ-centered higher education. Vera joins a network of professionals who collaborate to share best practices, address challenges, and enhance alumni programs.

“I am honored to be selected and to serve as a commissioner on the CCCU’s Commission for Alumni Affairs Directors,” Vera said. “At ж¶Òõ, we believe in the lifelong value of Christ-centered education, and I’m excited to collaborate with colleagues across the nation who share that passion. Together, we can strengthen alumni engagement efforts that support our institutions and advance the Kingdom.”

Vera is a 2017 WBU graduate with a Bachelor of Christian Ministry. He also serves as pastor of Primera Iglesia Bautista in Lubbock. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Plainview and is married to Marcia Vera.

Mike Hammack, Vice President of Institutional Advancement, praised the appointment.

“Jeffrey’s deep passion for ж¶Òõ’s mission and his dedication to alumni and students make him a natural choice for this role,” Hammack said. “His voice will be a valuable asset to the CCCU, and I’m proud to see him represent ж¶Òõ at the national level.”

CCCU is an association of more than 180 Christian institutions across the globe, and its commissions serve to enhance collaboration and leadership among member schools in areas such as alumni affairs, enrollment, advancement, student development, and academic affairs. Commissioners are selected for their leadership, insight, and commitment to the mission of Christian higher education.
